Just a fun aside, from the BigMaps blog. Bummer I don’t see a way to embed the zoomable version here. Pointing out to these kinds of things from my RDF is one of the longer term goals of my exploration. Take a ride along the waterfront to see the various ships under construction. (wonder if I can infer from my data which ones those might be?)
FYI, the map is also available from the Library of Congress: http://hdl.loc.gov/loc.gmd/g3834w.pm001060 (but I don’t know if you can embed that version, either).
That’s true, but the zoomable interface is pretty nifty for seeing the details. For my RDF I’ll link to relevant LOC collections too. (this just floated by, someone tweeted this version for Champaign http://www.bigmapblog.com/2011/birdseye-view-of-champaign-illinois-186/)
